Innovative cooling and warming units for professional counter technology – made in Germany.
Hakemann GmbH & Co. KG, based in Lower Saxony, has stood for quality and innovation in the field of refrigeration and warming units for over 45 years. Founded in 1979 by Wilhelm Hakemann as a business for catering equipment, the company developed under Hergen and Dipl.-Ing. Edgar Hakemann into a specialist for technically sophisticated units in shopfitting.
Since 2001, the focus has been exclusively on the development and manufacture of cooling and warming systems. In 14 production halls covering around 13,000 m², approx. 5,000 units are produced each year – from refrigerated counter inserts and cooling plates and display cases to tailor-made custom solutions.
Thanks to state-of-the-art production with networked laser cutting systems, an automated bending center, and a powerful ERP system, WIHA manufactures just-in-time and according to customer specifications. More than 40 patents and utility models testify to the high degree of innovation of the WIHA brand. Many units are already cloud-enabled today – including temperature logs, fault messages, and remote diagnostics.
Customers include leading European shopfitters that use WIHA units in bakeries, gas stations, canteens, shopping centers, and airports. The combination of innovative strength, manufacturing depth, and customer proximity makes WIHA a reliable partner in professional equipment manufacturing.

Wilhelm Hakemann lays the foundation of the company with the planning and sale of restaurant furnishings. Shortly thereafter, the first office, exhibition, and production spaces are created.
The WIHA brand is registered with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office. This marks the beginning of the development and manufacture of the company's own stainless steel furniture and refrigeration units for furnishing companies.

The filing of the first patent for refrigerated counter inserts marks the start of the strategic focus on specialized equipment manufacturing.
Hergen Hakemann and Dipl.-Ing. Edgar Hakemann take over the management and lead the company into the next phase of development.
The gastronomy and commercial kitchen equipment division is discontinued. Since then, the company has focused entirely on the manufacture of cooling and warming equipment.

WIHA produces around 5,000 units annually on approximately 13,000 m² of production space. Around 90 employees develop and manufacture WIHA equipment, which is used throughout Europe.
